Brief History
The School of Management Sciences was officially established following the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) on October 6, 2022, as the fourth school in the University to run four academic programmes, namely, Accounting, Business Management, Entrepreneurship Management and Project Management.
The four approved departments commenced academic activities in the 2022/2023 academic session, with the appointment of its pioneer Dean, Prof. A. A. Adeyeye, who served between 2022 -2024. The school admitted a total of 43 students across the four Departments in the first session of its commencement: The Department of Accounting admitted 30 students, the Department of Business Management Admitted 11 students while the Department of Project Management admitted 2 students and none for Entrepreneurship Management.
In 2024, two academic programmes, namely, Economics and Public administration were approved by the NUC to commence academic activities in the school. In the 2024/2025 academic session, the two departments commenced academic activities, where the Department of Public Administration admitted 186 students and the Department of Economics admitted 65 students. The School of Management Sciences now have a total of six academic Departments.
The School of Management Sciences is the fastest growing school in terms of students’ enrolment in the history of the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, since its inception following the geometric rise in the students’ population from 43 to 797 within the three years of its take-off. The school is made up of seasoned academics, innovative researchers, dedicated teachers, and industrious staff, who are members of both national and international research organisations and have won various academic laurels in their fields. Dr Paul T. Owombo is the current Acting Dean of the school.
DEPARTMENTS IN THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa was established by the Ondo State government in 2008. It was initially named as Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH).
It is a technology-based institution, which aims at providing the needed manpower training for industrial and technological development of Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.
