Brief History

The School of Management Sciences at the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, was officially established following the approval for academic operations granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on October 6, 2022. This marked a significant milestone in the university's commitment to providing quality education in management disciplines.

In its inaugural academic session, the school welcomed 43 pioneer students, comprising 30 students in Accounting, 11 in Business Management, and 2 in Project Management. These students were formally matriculated on May 25, 2023, signifying their official entry into the academic community of OAUSTECH. 

In 2024, the NUC further expanded the academic offerings of the School of Management Sciences by approving additional departments, making it a total of six departments which include:

1. Accounting
2. Project Management
3. Business Administration
4. Entrepreneurship 
5. Economics
6. Public Administration

These new departments are further designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in various sectors of the economy, addressing the growing demand for professionals in these fields.

The School of Management Sciences is led by its pioneer Dean, Professor Adewole A. Adeyeye, a distinguished academic known for his expertise in business ethics and management. Under his leadership, the school aims to foster a robust academic environment that emphasizes ethical practices and prepares students for successful careers in various management fields. Following Professor Adeyeye, Dr. Temegbe Owombo served as the immediate past Acting Dean of the School of Management, continuing the commitment to academic excellence and ethical standards within the institution.

Dr. Owombo's tenure contributed to the ongoing development of the school, ensuring that it remains responsive to the evolving needs of the business and management landscape.

The establishment of the School of Management Sciences not only enhances the academic offerings of OAUSTECH but also contributes to the development of skilled professionals equipped to address the challenges of the modern business landscape.
