The signing, hosted by OAUSTECH’s Centre for Linkages and Internationalization, CLI, at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, officially launched a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and research capacity between the two institutions. The event took place at 11:00 AM WAT via Zoom, with senior management and academic staff from both universities in attendance.
In his remarks, OAUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, FNAHS, FSSAN, outlined the immediate focus of the partnership. He said the short-term goal of the MOU will cover online teaching and learning, doctoral supervision in engineering, benchwork collaboration, and joint research initiatives.
“This agreement is designed to deliver tangible academic outcomes from the outset. We look forward to leveraging NED University’s expertise to enhance our postgraduate training and research output in engineering and related fields,” Prof. Ologunorisa stated.
The MoA will also facilitate staff and student mobility, joint publications, and technology transfer, positioning OAUSTECH to deepen its global engagement in science and technology.
The Vice-Chancellor further acknowledged the pivotal role of Dr. Abdulkadir Oladimeji in facilitating the partnership and coordinating the successful virtual event.
Officials from NED University welcomed the collaboration and expressed optimism about building a sustainable, mutually beneficial relationship that advances innovation and knowledge exchange.
The agreement marks another milestone in OAUSTECH’s drive to expand its international linkages and position itself as a hub for impactful research in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
