Was born to the family of Mr. Gabriel Ogunsemi Akomolafe and Mrs. Emily Akomolafe of Igbara-Oke in Ondo State on Sept. 12, 1966. He started his academic career at St. Peter’s C.A.C. Primary School, Igboroko-Nla Street, Owo (1970-76). He attended primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science.

Dipo began his academic career when he was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer in 2006 by Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji—Arakeji, and promoted to Lecturer 11 in 2009. In 2011, he was appointed by Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, as Lecturer 1, and presently, he is a Professor of Computer Science at the University. He has taught various aspects of Computer Science, has thirty-four publications to his credit in the areas of Computer hardware and software, Forensics, Computer security, and Management Information Systems and has co-authored two reputable textbooks. Prof. Akomolafe has served as an Academic/ level adviser to students at various levels, is a member of several academic committees and has held many administrative positions in the University system. Including being the Dean, College of Science and Computing at Wellspring University, Benin City. Prof. Dipo Akomolafe is an active member of many professional bodies. His commitment to advancing education has earned him the award of Pillars of Nation Building by Strategic Institute for Natural Resources and Human Development, and the Chieftaincy title of Otunba Afimogboye of Iju-Odo Kingdom by Oniju of Iju-Odo. Prof. Akomolafe is married to Mrs. Abimbola Akomolafe, and the marriage is blessed with four children.
