Dr Vincent Akpoveta, a Senior Lecturer joined the Department as a Lecturer I in 2015 and currently serves as Seminar coordinator as well as coordinator Top Up, Industrial Chemistry programme. He holds a B.Sc degree in Industrial Chemistry from Delta State University and an M.Sc degree in Physical Chemistry from University of Ibadan.

He further possesses a Ph.D degree in Physical/Environmental Chemistry from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma; with a bias in terrestrial and massive oil spill remediation. His research interests includes process optimization of novel hydrocarbon remediation methods, rate studies and kinetics of environmental remediation processes.

He has published more than 35 articles in leading international journals with the discovery of cutting edge remediation techniques for oil spill control and clean up. He is presently carrying out a major research on the optimization of bio nano-silica from biomass for hydrocarbon remediation application as the lead researcher.
