The University Librarian attended Ayetoro/Iloro High School, Ayetoro- Ekiti for his secondary education and the prestigious University of Ibadan where he bagged a Diploma in Librarianship, B.Ed (Adult Education and Political Science), M.Sc (Political Science and International Relations), MLS and Ph.D in Library, Archival and Information Science.
Deeply rooted, versatile and highly experienced in librarianship, Dr. Ajegbomogun started his career as a Library Officer at the University of Ibadan and later moved to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where he rose steadily from Librarian II to the post of Associate Librarian (i.e. Deputy University Librarian).
He had his sabbatical at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode between December 2012 and December 2013. In addition, the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta at its 108th Statutory meeting held on 6th January, 2022, approved his promotion to the position of Library Professor with effect from 1st October, 2019.
As a professional and an academic in Library Studies, he has taught and supervised a very good number of students at the post-graduate level.
His areas of interests cover library information resource use, information literacy, informatics and information technology use.
Ajegbomogun, who was one-time PG programme Co-ordinator at FUNAAB, is a member of many university committees.
He has attended more than 20 trainings in library studies within and outside the country, with high impact research papers read in most of the conferences. Some of the major conferences attended include: 19th Shanghai International Library Forum, China in 2018, 16th European Conference on e-Learning, Portugal, 2017 and 82nd IFLA General Conference and Assembly held at Columbus, Ohio, USA in 2016. He was sponsored to attend the 36th National Library of Science and Technology (IATUL), Hannover, Germany in 2015 and participated at the 45th National Conference/AGM on Knowledge Management for National Development held at Abuja, Nigeria in 2010.
Dr. Ajegbomogun, who is a member to Nigeria Library Association (NLA), Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and Association of Information System (AIS), Canada, USA, has received commendations, prizes, awards and scholarships at various times in his career-progression.
Prof. Ajegbomogun from Ayetoro-Ekiti, Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State has published over 35 research articles in reputable local and international journals. He is happily married and blessed with children. His hobbies include farming, reading, singing and travelling.
