    Temi E. Ologunorisa is an award-winning climate and environmental scientist, a teacher-scholar, and an astute university administrator. He is the 4th substantive Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Nigeria.

    He is Professor of Meteorology and Climate Science at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria since 2016, and an Adjunct Professor of Geography at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia as well as Kansas City Kansas Community College, Kansas, United States. He was previously the Executive Director of the Center for Black Culture and International Understanding (a UNESCO affiliated centre), Osogbo, Nigeria (2015-2016) where issues of black empowerment and diaspora studies take the center stage.

    He had his BSc (Hons) Degree in Geography (with minor in Geology and Botany) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1988; Msc Environmental and Resource Planning from the Faculty of Environmental Science, University of Jos in 1991; and a PhD in Climatology from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 2002.

    He has about three decades of university teaching, research, consulting, and community engagement experience. He rose through the ranks in many universities in the Nigerian University System to become Professor in October 2007 at Osun State University. By this appointment, Professor Ologunorisa became the First Professor to be appointed by the Osun State University where he served meritoriously as Chair of the Department of Geography and Resource Management (2007-2012), Pioneer Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences (2013-2015), First Elected Provost, College of Management and Social Sciences(2011-2013), Head of Okuku Campus of Osun State University (2011-2013), Chairman, Committee of Provosts, Deans and Academic Directors(2012-2013), and Founding Director, Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (2007 -2015). He also delivered the First Inaugural Lecture of the University in 2011.

    Professor Ologunorisa is recognized as a world leader in flood hydroclimatology. On the strength of the quality and quantum of his research work in climate science (Flood Hydroclimatology), the United States Government gave him "Scholar of Extraordinary Ability Award" in 2018. This award is reserved exclusively for winners of the Nobel Prize, or those whose quality of research work are rated in this category. The award confers on its recipient(s) the permanent residency of the United States of America. He has published widely as he has over 100 publications to his credit made up of 60 articles in national and international peer reviewed journals, 20 chapters in edited books, 2 books,3 monographs, 5 edited books, 20 published conference proceedings and 6 technical reports. He has won grants of over $400,000.00 in collaboration with colleagues.

    He is a recipient of many honors, awards, fellowships, and academic distinctions. He was a plenary lecturer at the International Association of Hydrological Science Conference held at Exeter College, Oxford University, U.K in January 2008. He was also a Guest Professor at the Institute of Water, Environment and Health, United Nations University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 2010. He has been a visiting professor to the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Missouri, Kansas City, United States since 2008. He was a visiting professor to the School of Geography and Earth Sciences, McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada (2010); Visiting professor to the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan (2009); Visiting scholar, Department of Geography, National University of Singapore (2012); Honorary visiting professor, Flinders University of South Australia (2009) and Visiting Scientist, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa (2012); Guest Professor, North-West University, Mafikeng, South Africa(2015), Visiting Scholar, Southern University A&M, Baton Rouge, USA(2018); Adjunct Professor of Geography, Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia, USA (2021) and Adjunct Professor of Geography, Kansas City Kansas Community College, USA(2019-2022).

    He was awarded the membership of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) by special invitation in 2003. He won the international nomination to serve in the International Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Meteorology, U.K in 2005, the second person in Africa to serve on the Board. He is currently sitting on the editorial boards of over 20 international journals. These include CATENA published by Elsevier; International Journal of Biometeorology, published by Springer; Natural Hazards published by Springer; JAMBA published by North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa; Journal of Applied Geography published by Elsevier among others. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Nigerian Meteorological Society (Journal of Meteorology and Climate Science) (2008- 2010), Editor-in Chief, Journal of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (2018-2021), and the Associate Editor of the Journal of the Association of Nigerian Geographers (2004-2005), and Editor, Nigerian Journal of Tropical Geography. He is a member of several learned societies such as International Association of Hydrological Sciences, U.K; Royal Meteorological Society U.K; American Geophysical Union; Annals of the Association of American Geographers (AAAG); Tornados and Storm Research Organization (TORRO) UK; Nigerian Meteorological Society, and Association of Nigerian Geographers.

    Professor Ologunorisa is a native of Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria and he is happily married to Dr. Omolola Victoria Ologunorisa (nee Akinola) and blessed with children.

    About OAUSTECH

    Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa was established by the Ondo State government in 2008. It was initially named as Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH).
