Professor Akinbo Adesomoju is a retired Professor of Chemistry. He obtained his first degree at the University of Ibadan and did his graduate studies at the University of Bristol and the University of Ibadan.

He was at various times a visiting scientist and Visiting Senior Scientist at several universities in the United States of America. He is a winner of several academic awards, research grants and fellowships.

Since his retirement, he was appointed the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State. Actually, on 6th March, 2008, the first Governing Council of the University, then named Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH), was inaugurated with Prof. Akinbo Adesomoju as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council. Later, Professor Adesomoju was appointed as Pioneer Vice-Chancellor, and now he is the 5^th and 6^th Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.

on behalf of the Governing Council, University Senate, Management, Staff and Students, wish to congratulate our beloved staff and students on the occasion of the 62nd Independence Day Anniversary of our dear country, Nigeria.

I wish you all many happy Independence Day Anniversary celebrations in sound health, progress, successes, abundance and prosperity in the years ahead.

Students of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Nigeria have been directed to return campus for academic activities immediately. According to a circular dated Friday, 14th October, 2022 and signed by the institution's Registrar, Mr. Ganiyu Oke Saliu, all students of the University were directed to resume activities on Monday, 17th October, 2022.

Students of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Nigeria have been directed to return campus for academic activities immediately. The National University Commission (NUC) has approved Management Sciences programmes for Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa with effect from from 2022/2023 academic session.
