Okunniga disclosed this while speaking at a reception organised to welcome him aboard as he assumed office on Thursday, 4th January, 2024 at the OAUSTECH main campus in Okitipupa.

The new Registrar, an illustrious son of Ikaleland from Igbisin Oloto, accompanied by loved ones, colleagues, co-staff, friends, loyalists, professional associates and club members from Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo seized the opportunity to appreciate God that made him excel at the interview, as well as the University Governing Council for giving him the opportunity to be the Registrar of the fast growing University.

In his welcome address, Mr. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), Prof. David Aworinde welcomed the new Registrar on board and charged him to immediately keep the ball rolling for the betterment of the staff, students and the University.

He hinted the Registrar that the staff of the University are faithful, committed, dedicated and ready to learn and keep improving. The DVC, thereafter, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, presented the new Registrar to members of the University community.

In his prayer, Pastor Kehinde David who prayed for the VC and his management team, as well as staff and students, also prayed for success and peaceful tenure of office for the new Registrar. He prayed for God's protection and good working relationship for him.

Goodwill messages …

Dr. Taiwo Akinola from AFUED in his goodwill message thanked God for such a day in the life of the new Registrar and prayed that no evil befall him. "We have given you one of the best hands in administration. He's easy going, dutiful, diligent and will surely make your University proud", Dr. Akinola submitted.

Speaking in the same vein, Mr. Femi Akinroyeje said that God has indeed favoured the University by making Okunniga the Registrar at this point in time. Equally speaking, Mr. Akinboboye  Adedayo described the Registrar as objective and unbias individual, who believes in substance , wishing that other civil servants could emulate him.

Pastor Temidayo Olorunfunmise described Okunniga as tactful and sincere, while Mrs. Bimpe Olabode congratulated him and stated that she is convinced that he will add value to the University and Mrs  Taiwo Olaitan reiterated that the University is lucky to have a person like Okunniga (a.k.a. Approved) as its Chief Administrative Officer.

In her remarks, Mrs. Janet Adisa stressed that the new Registrar is a human being with flesh and blood and as such is not infallible. "If he makes any mistake, please, show him the way. He has listening ears. "Mrs. Obadofin C.J., NASU Chairman from AFUED described the new Registrar as among the special breeds from Adeyemi, a man of his words and a man who can go extra mile to fight a cause he believed in.

His staff and subordinates from Examinations and Records, AFUED said they are so proud of him and will miss him dearly as they presented him with a roll up. Ex-NASU Chairman, OAUSTECH, Comr. Peter Akindehinde of the DVC's office gave the votes of thanks, while closing prayer was given by Dr. S.M. Raji from AFUED.
