    INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR ACADEMIC AND NON-TEACHING STAFF VACANT POSITIONS IN THE UNIVERSITY

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacant academic and non-teaching staff positions in Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria.

    ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS

    1.  SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND NATURAL RESOURCES 

    Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension

    Senior Lecturer: Salary (CONUASS 5):

    Candidates must possess a good first degree, not below Second Class Lower, a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in the subject area with minimum of six (6) years cognate teaching, research, community service and professional experience. Candidates must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals and must be able to teach courses as well as supervise students’ projects both at the undergraduate and the postgraduate levels. Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

    2. SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

    1. Department of Mechanical Engineering
    2. Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering
    3. Department of Civil Engineering

    There exist vacancies for the positions of: (a) Professors (b) Readers (c) Senior Lecturers and (d) Lecturer I for each of the three Departments listed above.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Professors – CONUASS 7

    Candidates must possess a good first degree, not below Second Class Lower, a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in the subject area with a minimum of twelve (12) years post-qualification experience in teaching, research and student supervision in a recognised University. In addition, the candidates must be COREN registered and have extensive scholarly publications in reputable high-impact Journals to his/her credit and show evidence of exemplary academic leadership as well as community services.

    Readers – CONUASS 6

    Candidates must possess a good first degree, not below Second Class Lower, a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in the subject area with a minimum of nine (9) years post-qualification experience in teaching, research and student supervision in a recognised University. In addition, the candidates must be COREN registered. It is expected that the candidates must show evidence of exemplary academic leadership with the capacity/capability of maturing into full Professor and with empirical evidence of commitment to community services.

    Senior Lecturers – CONUASS 5

    Candidates must possess a good first degree, not below Second Class Lower, a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in the subject area with a minimum of six (6) years post-qualification experience in teaching, research and student supervision in a recognised University. In addition, the candidate must be COREN registered.

    Lecturer I – CONUASS 4

    Candidates must possess a good first degree, not below Second Class Lower, a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in the subject area with a minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience in teaching, research and student supervision in a recognised University. Candidates with a good Master’s degree as well as a good number of scholarly publications in reputable national/international journals may also apply. In addition, the candidates must possess high standard academic leadership, team work (especially collaborative research) and administrative experience. 

    NON-TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS

    1. INTERNAL AUDIT UNIT

    A. Chief Internal Auditor (CONTISS 13)

    Candidates for the position of Chief Internal Auditor must possess the following:

    1. A good first degree, not below Second Class Lower, in Accounting or other finance-related disciplines obtained from recognised universities or tertiary institutions;
    2. At least ten (10) years cognate experience, three (3) of which must have been at a Senior Management position (i.e Principal Internal Auditor) in a university or an equivalent institution of higher learning, or an appropriate corporate organisation;
    3. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate;
    4. Full membership of a recognised professional Accounting/Auditing body such as ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, and CPA;
    5. Evidence of computer literacy/proficiency in the use of relevant accounting/auditing packages mandatorily; and
    6. A postgraduate degree in relevant field(s) and membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Nigeria (IIAN) and Chartered Institute of Forensic Certified Fraud Examiner of Nigeria (CIFCFEN) will be an added advantage.

    B. Internal Auditor II (CONTISS 07)

    Candidates for the position of Internal Auditor II must possess the following:

    1. A good first degree, not below Second Class Lower, in Accounting and other related finance-related disciplines obtained from recognised universities or tertiary institutions;
    2. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate;
    3. B.Sc. Accounting or A.I.A with a minimum of two (2) years post-qualification experience; and
    4. Evidence of computer literacy/proficiency in the use of relevant accounting/auditing package is essential.

    3. LEGAL SERVICES UNIT

    Administrative Officer I (Legal) CONTISS 8

    Candidates for the position of Administrative Officer I (Legal) must possess the following:

    1. A Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree, with at least Second Class Lower, from a recognised university and Barrister at Law (BL);
    2. A minimum of three (3) years cognate post-qualification experience;
    3. National Youth Service Discharge Certificate or Certificate of Exemption; and
    4. Computer literacy.

    4. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY UNIT

    A. Webmaster II (CONTISS 7)

    Candidates for the position of Webmaster II must possess B.Eng/B.Tech/HND or B.Sc in Computer Engineering/Informatics/or related disciplines or an equivalent professional qualification from a recognised higher institution. He/she must have an analytical mind, detail understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and a fantastic content management and writing skill. Knowledge of programming and script language will be an advantage

    The Webmaster is responsible for the management of OAUSTECH’s web-based information. He/ She coordinates the inputting of regular content into OAUSTECH’s websites gathered from a range of sources both within and outside the OAUSTECH community, implements the design of and manage the day-to-day maintenance of OAUSTECH’s websites and entire web presence, monitors web activities, and incorporate new technologies and enhancements into OAUSTECH websites and assists with general multimedia-related and communications-related tasks as may be periodically required.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Candidates must possess a B.Eng/B.Tech/HND or B.Sc in Computer Engineering/Informatics/ or related disciplines or an equivalent professional qualification from recognised higher institution in a relevant field, with at least three (3) years cognate experience. Candidates must also have the following skills:

    • Excellent written language skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of university-supported applications.
    • Competency in the use of PHP, HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHPMyAdmin, JavaScript, Joomla! Content Management System, Web authoring tools (e.g. Dreamweaver, FrontPage) and have basic knowledge in the use of multimedia and graphic animation software.
    • Ability to learn and support new technologies.
    • Multitasking, competent at, or comfortable at least, with multimedia editing suites and softwares.
    • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
    • Certifications in MCSE, CCNA, and others are preferable

    B. Systems Programmer II (CONTISS 7)

    Qualifications and Experience

    Candidates must possess B.Eng/B.Tech/HND or B.Sc in Computer Engineering/Informatics/ or related disciplines or an equivalent professional qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, with practical experience in networking, server setup, administration and management in either Windows or Linux environment. The specialised professional experience should be in one of the following areas:

    1. Software Systems, Language and Compilers;
    2. Scientific Applications;
    3. Information Management Systems; and
    4. Commercial Applications.

    About OAUSTECH
