    INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR ACADEMIC AND NON-TEACHING STAFF VACANT POSITIONS IN THE UNIVERSITY

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacant academic and non-teaching staff positions in the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology:

    ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS

    1. SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

    A. Reader/Professor – Salary (CONUASS 6/ CONUASS 7): Accounting, Business Administration /Entrepreneurship and Project Management.

    Applicants must possess a minimum of Ph.D. Degree in any of the following fields: Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Project Management. Applicants should also have a minimum of 10 years post Ph.D. teaching and research experience at the university level for Professors and 9 years for Readership.

    Applicant should be a scholar of high repute with considerable publications in reputable and peer reviewed Journals. Evidence of registration with relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

    B. Departments of Project Management:

    1. Senior Lecturer: Salary (CONUASS 5):

      Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Project Management with at least five (5) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer I). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals. Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

    2. Lecturer I: Salary (CONUASS 4):
      Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Project Management with at least three (3) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer II). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals. Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.
    3. Lecturer II: Salary (CONUASS 3):
      Applicants must possess Ph.D. degree in Project Management and membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.
    C. Department of Accounting
    1. Senior Lecturer: Salary (CONUASS 5):

      Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Accounting with at least five (5) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer I). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals and be members of relevant professional accounting bodies like ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CIMA-UK and other relevant bodies.

    2. Lecturer I: Salary (CONUASS 4):
      Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Accounting with at least three (3) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer II). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals and be members of relevant professional accounting bodies like ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CIMA-UK and other relevant bodies.
    3. Lecturer II: Salary (CONUASS 3)
      Applicants must possess Ph.D. degree in Accounting and membership of relevant professional accounting bodies like ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CIMA-UK and other relevant bodies.
    D. Department of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship
    1. Senior Lecturer: Salary (CONUASS 5):
      Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration or Entrepreneurship with at least five (5) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer I). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals. Membership of relevant professional bodies would be added advantage.
    2. Lecturer I: Salary (CONUASS 4):
      Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration or Entrepreneurship with at least three (3) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer II). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals. Membership of relevant professional bodies would be added advantage.
    3. Lecturer II: Salary (CONUASS 3):
      Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration or Entrepreneurship and membership of relevant professional bodies would be added advantage.

    NON-TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS

    1. INTERNAL AUDIT UNIT

    A. Deputy Director of Internal Audit (CONTISS 14)
    The Deputy Director of Internal Audit is responsible to the Vice- Chancellor through the Director for the day –to-day administration of the Internal Audit Unit on the following:
    1. Conduct an annual risk assessment of the University in consultation with the Finance and General Purpose Committee and Management; develop an appropriate annual internal audit plan to monitor and report the adequacy and effectiveness of the University and its subsidiaries' processes and risk management. 
    2. Coordinate and provide oversight on control and monitoring functions such as risk management, compliance, security, legal, ethics, environment and external audit. 
    3. Report to the Governing Council, Finance and General Purpose Committee and Management significant issues related to the processes for controlling the activities of the University and its subsidiaries by recommending potential areas in need of improvement.
    4. Preparation and presentation of periodic risk-based Audit report to the Governing Council on the status and results of the annual internal audit plan for decision making.
    5. Assess the means of safeguarding assets, review established procedures and systems and propose improvements.
    6. Carry out ad hoc appraisals, special investigations or reviews as requested by the Governing Council, Finance and General Purpose Committee and Management 
    7. Ensure that significant legislative or regulatory issues impacting the University are recognized and addressed timely and appropriately. 
    8. Ensure that potential fraud risk is managed; fraud deterrence controls are evaluated for adequacy and effectiveness and suspected occurrences of fraud are investigated. 
    9. Develop and implement internal audit control strategies, policies and procedures across various departments in the University while observing effectiveness of established internal control policies, procedures and processes; and ensuring compliance with IT Policies.
    10. Lead, direct and coordinate affairs of the Internal Audit department by assigning both routine and one off assignments to internal audit team as the job requires 
    11. Identify control issues and advising management on control weaknesses 
    12. Budget review, payroll management; ensuring value for money, pre-payment Audit of payment vouchers.
    13. Carry out high level investigations and audit enquiries, monitoring and evaluating contract performance.
    14. Handle related correspondences.
    15. Discussion of the university financial statements and management accounts with the External Auditors and Bursary before presentation to Council. 

    Qualifications and Experience

    1. Possession of a good first Degree not below Second Class Lower in Accounting or other related financial disciplines obtained from recognized Universities or tertiary institutions.
    2. At least thirteen (13) years cognate experience, three (3) of which must have been at a Senior Management position (i.e Chief Internal Auditor) in a University or an equivalent institution of higher learning, or an appropriate corporate organisation.
    3. NYSC Discharge / Exemption Certificate.
    4. Applicants must be a full member of a recognized professional Accounting / Audit bodies such as ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, and CPA
    5. Evidence of computer literacy/proficiency in the use of relevant accounting/auditing packages is mandatory.
    6. Possession of a Postgraduate degree in relevant field(s) and membership of Institute of Internal Auditors of Nigeria (IIAN) and Chartered Institute of Forensic Certified Fraud Examiner of Nigeria (CIFCFEN) will be added advantages.

    B. Internal Auditor I (CONTISS 08)

             Applicants must possess the following:

    1. Possession of a good first Degree not below Second Class Lower in Accounting and other related financial disciplines obtained from recognized Universities or tertiary institutions;
    2. With at least four (4) years post qualification experience;
    1. NYSC Discharge / Exemption Certificate;
    2. Applicants must be a full member of a recognized professional Accounting / Audit bodies such as ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, and CPA; and
    3. Evidence of computer literacy/proficiency in the use of relevant accounting/auditing packages.
    1. LEGAL SERVICES UNIT
    Senior Assistant Registrar (Legal) CONTISS 11
    Applicants for the position of Senior Assistant Registrar must possess the following:
    1. Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Degree with a at least  Second Class Lower from a recognised university and Barrister at Law (BL) and must have a minimum six (6) years cognate experience in a university or an institution of comparable status ;
    2. National Youth Service Certificate or Certificate of Exemption;
    3. Postgraduate Degree would be an added advantage; and
    4. Computer literacy.

    3. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY UNIT

    A. Webmaster (CONTISS 9)

    The Webmaster is responsible for the management of OAUSTECH’s web-based information. S/he coordinates the inputting of regular content into OAUSTECH’s websites gathered from a range of sources both within and outside the OAUSTECH community, implements the design of and manage the day-to-day maintenance of OAUSTECH’s websites and entire web presence, monitors web activities, and incorporate new technologies and enhancements into OAUSTECH websites and assists with general multimedia-related and communications-related tasks as may be periodically required.

    Detailed Listing of Responsibilities

    • Create new web pages and update existing web pages as necessary.
    • Collaborate with departments and units in OAUSTECH to constantly update and renew web content, setting up systems/procedures to encourage timeliness, quality, and accuracy of web page information.
    • Make sure that the OAUSTECH site works correctly and all links are active. Archive old web pages and ensure consistency in the level of content and look and feel across the website. Maintain an image database for use on the website.
    • Oversee the training and technical support of Departmental Web Officers.
    • Maintain custody of all hardware and software necessary for managing and operating the website.
    • Develop and implement OAUSTECH’s web systems and infrastructure and serve as a point of contact for website development projects.
    • Develop OAUSTECH’s website infrastructure, utilize applications to ensure good technical performance, and assess new technologies for applicability to OAUSTECH’s website.
    • Use available technology to promote the OAUSTECH website and gather web-based statistical information for analysis.
    • Assist in the formulation and enforcement of website policies and standards that, among other things, establish procedures to ensure the readiness, quality, and accuracy of the website content, and assist in educating members of the OAUSTECH community about policies and standards.
    • Produce electronic newsletters and mailings, as well as manage OAUSTECH’s mailing lists.
    • Assist in the production of attractive and appealing electronic and printed documents, presentations, and reports.
    • Manage all OAUSTECH’s web advertising and be responsible for the creation and deployment of banner and text link ads.
    • Oversee OAUSTECH’s social networking initiatives in (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Flickr, and YouTube.
    • Undertake other communications tasks as required by the Head of University Relations.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognized tertiary institution in a relevant field, with at least three (3) years cognate experience.
    • Excellent written language skills (non-negotiable)
    • Advanced knowledge of university-supported applications.
    • Must be competent in the use of PHP, HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHPMyAdmin, JavaScript, Joomla! Content Management System, Web authoring tools (e.g. Dreamweaver, FrontPage) and have basic knowledge in the use of multimedia and graphic animation software.
    • Ability to learn and support new technologies.
    • Multitasking, competent at, or comfortable at least, with multimedia editing suites and software
    • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
    • Certifications in MCSE, CCNA, and others are preferable.

    B.  Senior Systems Programmer (CONTISS 9)

    Qualifications and Experience

    Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Informatics or related discipline or an equivalent Professional qualification from a recognized tertiary institution, with at least four (4) years cognate experience. The specialized professional experience should be in one of the following areas.

    i.  Software Systems, Language and Compilers;
    ii.  Scientific Applications
    iii  Information Management Systems;
    iv  Commercial Applications
