Ramadan: Cleric urges Muslim faithful to pray for Nigeria, its leaders

A university don and Chief Imam, University of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin, Nigeria, Prof. Biliamin Ayinde has urged Muslim faithful to pray for Nigeria and its leaders during Ramadan.
The UNIBEN Chief Imam delivered Ramadan Lecture at Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Nigeria on March 2nd, 2025, saying Ramadan is a time for forgiveness, blessings, and sincere supplications.
Urging Muslims to pray for Nigeria's redemption and leaders during Ramadan, Prof. Ayinde advised against sinful acts during Ramadan, as he encouraged Muslims to give alms and assist the less privileged during Ramadan.
He explained that Ramadan is a time for reflection and spiritual growth, advising Muslim faithful to avoid sinful acts during Ramadan for prayers to be accepted.
OAUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, maintained that Nigeria would overcome her challenges with prayers and responsibility.
The OAUSTECH Muslim Community hosted the Ramadan lecture for staff and students. The Ramadan Planning Committee expressed gratitude for the success of the event, which various Muslim organizations attended.
